The Sway of the Wino wa Akishi
The Wino wa Akishi is a bottom swinging dance performed by initiates holding onto vines suspended from the top of the initiation camp fence. They are led by a man who wears a 3ft Raffia phallus which he gyrates rhythmically. To inspire the boys and as a symbol of their newly found manhood. Inside the initiation enclosure, the initiates wear thick raffia skirts and practice the many dances they have been taught by their ritual elders.
